Ali Latifi

Ali M Latifi was born in Kabul, but left with his family during the Soviet occupation when he was three-years-old. In California, he grew up in the largest Afghan-American community. He first returned to the country of his birth in 2011, and has reported extensively from there - and on issues affecting Afghan refugees elsewhere – in the years since.
